Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) to join the provider care team. You will support reports, data and scheduling in the laboratory and ensure timely, accurate specimen collection for testing.

You’ll interact with patients and staff with Mercy's Signature Service Standards in mind. Requirements include a high school diploma and at least 6 months of phlebotomy or clinical lab experience, plus commitment to confidentiality and facility competencies.

This position is responsible for accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms. The LST II will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service Standards with all customer interactions. The LST II is responsible for the skillful acquisition of all required types of specimens, As required, for laboratory testing utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 6 months phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience of successful completion of a clinical training program.

Other: The LST II position must: satisfactorily complete the specific facility competencies, including but not limited to checklist, written examination, management observation, etc., to be eligible for advancement to the next higher job description.
