Job summary

Mercy Joplin is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) to support reports, data and scheduling for the laboratory. The role requires accurate, timely specimen collection and adherence to HIPAA and Mercy Service Standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and at least 6 months of phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience. This is a PRN, part-time position.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: 6 months phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience of successful completion of a clinical training program.
• The LST II position must: satisfactorily complete the specific facility competencies to be eligible for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Acquire all required specimen types for laboratory testing using safe, accurate, professional methodologies.
• Provide accurate and timely lab support, including reports, data and scheduling assistance.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service in line with Mercy Signature Service Standards.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and adhere to lab policies.

Find your calling at Mercy! The Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms. The LST II will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service Standards with all customer interactions. The LST II is responsible for the skillful acquisition of all required types of specimens, as required, for laboratory testing utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
