Job summary

Trinity Health in Maywood, IL is seeking a Lab Support Service Tech (Core) for the Central Processing area. This part-time Evening shift (0.5 FTE) runs 3:00pm–11:30pm with rotating holidays and weekends, supporting receipt, processing and routing of specimens to ensure timely patient care.

You will provide customer-friendly service by phone, computer or in person and perform duties from pre-analytical to post-analytical phases.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma; Less than one year of previous job-related experience.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree OR equivalent training; 1-2 years of previous job-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties from pre-analytical to post-analytical phases of testing according to SOPs.
• Receives and evaluates specimens to ensure proper identification and sample appropriateness.
• Works with team members to triage and move samples through testing stages.

About the Job

In this role, the Lab Support Service Tech (Core) will support the delivery of patient care through the receipt, processing, and routing of specimens.

Provides customer friendly service to any person requesting supplies or information by phone, computer or in person.

What you will do

Performs assigned duties from the pre-analytical to post-analytical phases of testing according to standard operating procedures.

Receives and evaluates all specimens to ensure positive identification and appropriateness of sample.

Works with fellow team members to properly triage and efficiently move samples through all phases of testing.

Here is what you will need

• Required: High School Diploma Less than one year of previous job-related experience
• Preferred: Associate's Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
