Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification: National Phlebotomy Certification required.
• Phlebotomy duties including specimen collection and registration.

• Performs phlebotomy and processes patient specimens.
• Performs patient registration and uses the Laboratory computer system.
• Prepares specimens for reference laboratories and maintains inventory.
• Operates and maintains equipment and performs clerical duties.
• Adheres to patient identification, laboratory safety, and policies.
• Promotes teamwork within the healthcare team.

Position Summary (St. Peters, MO location)

Performs phlebotomy, processes patient specimens and performs patient registration. Utilizes Laboratory computer system. Prepares specimens to be sent to reference laboratories. Maintains department inventory and operates and maintains equipment. Performs various clerical duties. Adheres to patient identification, laboratory safety, and department policies and procedures. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.
