Job summary

ConvenientMD is seeking a Lab Assistant to support laboratory services at an exciting growth stage. You will help ensure specimens are received, prepared, and documented accurately while supporting PCR and molecular testing operations.

You will collaborate with Lab Technicians and leadership to maintain throughput, quality, and timely diagnostic results in a fast-paced environment, focusing on accuracy and compliance with CLIA/COLA/CAP standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or a degree in biology, laboratory science, or related field preferred.
• Experience in laboratory, healthcare, or clinical environment; experience with specimen accessioning or regulated environments (CLIA/COLA/CAP) is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and accuracy in handling specimens and data.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, label, and verify specimens per policies and CLIA requirements.
• Assist with sample preparation and staging under supervision; support PCR and molecular workflows as needed.
• Enter accurate specimen and patient data into LIS; maintain logs and compliance documentation.
• Stock, organize, and monitor lab supplies and communicate inventory needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, compliant lab workspace and follow biosafety and waste procedures.
• Communicate effectively with lab team and clinic partners to clarify specimen collection and documentation.
