Qualifications

• Six months of prior experience as a lab assistant.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.
• Assists in preparation and processing of bone marrow specimens.
• Supports technologists by loading and maintaining instruments, preparing reagents, thawing, pooling, importing and issuing blood products.
• Operates, maintains and repairs clinical laboratory equipment within training scope.
• Completes culture setup of microbiology samples and gram stain preparation when in Microbiology.
• Performs phlebotomy to ensure timely test processing.
• Provides laboratory customer service and performs clerical duties; maintains equipment and supplies.
