Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Phlebotomist to support the Microbiology department. The role involves performing waived testing or aiding in moderately complex assays under supervision, with a focus on specimen prep, centrifuge use, and equipment checks.
Required are two years of phlebotomy experience and a phlebotomy certification or an applicable health care degree. Shifts are 4–10 hours, every other weekend, with rotating holidays.
Microbiology
Performs waived testing or assists in the performance of moderately complex laboratory tests under supervision to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Responsibilities include specimen preparation for testing, centrifuge maintenance & electrical checks, temperature charts, pipette maintenance & calibration, and locating specimens on pending lists. Follows all hospital and laboratory policies, guidelines, procedures and protocols pertaining to job duties and meets expectations for performance standards.
HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
4- 10hr shifts, every other weekend and rotating holidays.
