Job summary

Rhode Island Blood Center in Rhode Island seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the pre-analytic donor testing laboratory, ensuring compliance with SOPs, CFRs, CLIA, cGMP, and FDA/AABB practices.

You will supervise staff, manage payroll, scheduling, inventory, training, and quality initiatives, while promoting safety and collaboration across shifts to meet turnaround times and deliver high-quality donor testing services.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AABB, FDA and OSHA regulations.
• Working knowledge of LIS and BECS.
• Experience in leading laboratory personnel and operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pre-analytic procedures and donor testing inventory.
• Maintain competency and provide direct observation of staff.
• Lead staff coaching, meetings, and performance evaluations.
• Handle hiring, payroll, scheduling, and supply management.
• Ensure quality customer service and meet internal/external TAT goals.
