Job summary

Rhode Island Blood Center in Rhode Island is seeking a Laboratory Operations Manager to lead a designated team under established SOPs and regulatory standards including GMPs, CLIA, and CFRs. You will ensure high standards of quality and customer service while maintaining proactive communications with stakeholders.

Responsibilities include supervising Testing Laboratory Supervisors, handling payroll and scheduling, and driving continuous improvement and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS/MT) or related field with biology/chemistry coursework completed.
• Minimum of four years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee donor testing operations and ensure compliance with CLIA, CFRs, and GMPs.
• Lead payroll approvals, scheduling, and purchasing of supplies.
• Manage training, development, and evaluation of staff.
• Perform and document investigations for deviations and corrective actions.
• Promote safety culture and ensure PPE usage across shifts.
• Foster teamwork and effective communication with internal and external partners.
