Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to lead daily workflow in the Retail Center of Excellence, delivering accurate, timely, and compliant testing. You will translate client needs into practical lab plans and provide clear results and continuous-improvement insights.

You will oversee a team, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational policies while collaborating with clients on special projects and benchmarking initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical way.
• Ability to coach and train others.
• Ability to analyze data and trends and draw useful conclusions.
• Strong customer focus and effective customer service skills.
• Understanding the impact of changes to requirements on test methods.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the day-to-day delivery of high-quality testing services.
• Monitors daily productivity and quality, allocates resources, and troubleshoots problems as necessary.
• Schedules, assigns, reviews and coordinates workflow for lab staff in accordance with policy and compliance.
• Contributes to budgeting and tactical plans for lab equipment and staffing.
• Prepares instructions for test methods, quality control and maintenance procedures.
• Manages performance of direct reports under supervision, including hiring guidance and adherence to policies.
• Ensures compliance with the UL Code of Conduct and security practices.
• Other duties as directed.
