Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Laboratory Phlebotomist to join the hospital laboratory team. You will perform phlebotomy procedures, handle specimen processing, and support laboratory operations on a day shift.

You will work with HIS/LIS systems, ensure accuracy in orders, and assist with inventory and QA. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience in phlebotomy or specimen processing in outpatient or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Specimen receipt and processing with checks for quality and quantity.
• Perform phlebotomy using proper PPE and safety protocols.
• Provide courteous patient and provider support and resolve concerns.
• Enter orders and troubleshoot within HIS/LIS systems.
• Assist with inventory control and QA checks in the lab.
• Participate in orientation and training of new staff.
