Job summary

Wellstar Health System LaGrange location is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform specimen collection and basic lab duties under supervision. You will handle HIS/LIS data entry, manage specimens, and provide courteous service to patients and providers.

Responsibilities include processing samples, adhering to PPE and infection control guidelines, and supporting multiple lab areas as workload requires. A high school diploma and phlebotomy basics are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification preferred or required upon hire.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred or required.
• Experience with phlebotomy or specimen processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check specimens for quality and quantity upon arrival.
• Process and prepare specimens for transport to testing areas.
• Perform phlebotomy with proper patient identification and PPE.
• Enter orders and track specimens in LIS/HIS systems.
• Provide friendly customer service to patients and providers.
• Maintain lab safety, inventory and infection control practices.
• Assist with QA checks and routine lab duties as needed.
