You will transport temperature-sensitive items, use courier software to log routes, and participate in department huddles while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Two years' courier experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required and must meet MercyOne's MVSA.
• Must be at least 18 and eligible to drive per Iowa state law.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transport laboratory specimens, mail, and supplies between MercyOne facilities and laboratory customers.
• Follow established procedures and infection control policies, including bloodborne pathogens.
• Handle chemicals according to safety protocols.
• Meet workload productivity standards; support LEAN principles.
• Utilize courier software and devices to track packages and route documentation.
• Ensure transport of temperature-dependent materials at required storage temperatures.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and courier bags.
• Attend department huddles and participate in teaching peers.
• Follow policies to track packages and obtain optimal transport times.
