Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT is seeking a full-time lab technician to manage specimen intake and processing. You will prioritize specimens (stat, routine, stroke, sepsis, etc.) and deliver to the automated line or manual bench in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities include accessioning in the computer system, verifying specimens, and ensuring correct patient identification and records per departmental guidelines.

Qualifications

• Laboratory experience required or preferred.
• Experience with specimen handling and processing.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes specimens ensuring patient identification and integrity.
• Verifies correct specimen received for the requested test and performs accessioning in the LIS.
• Confirms patient records using departmental guidelines and makes corrections as needed.
