Job summary

PathGroup is seeking an accession clerk to receive, sort, and provide accurate data entry for specimens entering the laboratory. You will transpose accession numbers to cassettes and slides and work under supervision to promote quality and efficiency within the department.

The role involves specimen labeling, document scanning, EH billing, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. A high school diploma or GED and data entry experience are required.

Qualifications

• Prior data entry experience is required.
• Medical terminology knowledge is a plus.
• Medical background is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, sort and assign accession number and maintain identifying number.
• Specimen entry, labeling specimens and slides and printing cassettes.
• Scanning and verifying documents.
• EH billing.
• Maintain safe work environment.
• Follow established safety guidelines.
• Promote departmental communication with customers and employees.
• Knowledge of acceptance and rejection of specimen.
• Maintain department inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
