Job summary

Dallas College seeks a dynamic Lab Specialist to support automotive labs within one of its Schools. This on-site role will maintain labs, manage tools and equipment, and coordinate vendor interactions to ensure safe, productive learning environments for students and staff.

Openings are for on-site positions with potential for hybrid work after six months based on policy. Strong communication and customer-service skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree plus one year of related work experience or experience in a teaching environment.
• Official transcripts are required.
• Some positions may require statelicensed/certifications depending on the discipline.
• Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of laboratories, specialized classrooms, learning laboratories, toolrooms and equipment in support of courses and programs.
• Promote safety through laboratory practices and train students on safety procedures and hazardous materials handling.
• Maintain MSDS information for chemicals and materials.
• Perform inventory and maintain accurate records of equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinate with vendors for quotes and purchases.
• Partner with faculty to coordinate learning lab support services.
• Troubleshoot lab hardware/software issues.
• Monitor students in the computer lab during open lab periods.
• Hire, supervise, and evaluate lab assistants and staff.
• Schedule repairs and track purchase requisitions.
