Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Houston, is seeking Patient Service Technicians at levels I and II. You will perform venipunctures, CLIA waived tests, and maintain lab records under supervision of licensed professionals. Training pathway available with increasing responsibilities at higher levels.

The role offers an hourly pay range from $16.00 to $29.00, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for development within UnitedHealth Group's Optum family.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association; must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• No experience required if completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program OR 1 year of directly related phlebotomist experience.
• Able to use related equipment.
• Experience with computers and Windows-based software.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric and adult venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, and other collection services as ordered by the provider.
• Perform CLIA waived testing (e.g., urine dip, pregnancy tests, finger stick glucose, etc.) as described in the lab procedure.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and make available for inspections/audits by Lab Supervisor, Lab Director, Lab Consultant and CLIA Surveyors.
• Perform necessary quality controls; participate in proficiency testing and maintain lab instruments per manufacturer recommendations.
