Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz is seeking a Laboratory Science Professional at open rank (Entry–Principal) to support a new lab focused on mTORC1 signaling, metabolism, and membrane remodeling. The role involves experimental execution, cell culture, and lab operations in a fast-paced research setting in Aurora, CO.

You will contribute to cryo-EM workflows, protein expression/purification, and safety/compliance while helping establish foundational workflows for the lab team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field.
• One year of professional level research experience for Entry/Intermediate, two years for Senior, and three years for Principal level.
• Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire; Master’s degree may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Experimental Execution: Conduct molecular biology workflows, including cloning, mutagenesis, and plasmid preparation. Express and purify proteins.
• Cell Culture Management: Maintain mammalian cell lines for biochemical and structural studies.
• Structural Biology Support: Prepare samples for cryo-EM/cryo-ET and maintain lab equipment.
• Lab Operations: Manage ordering, inventory, and shared databases; ensure safety compliance.
• Safety & Compliance: Liaise with EHS to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Collaboration: Work with PI and postdocs to optimize experimental protocols.
