Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz seeks a Laboratory Science Professional to join the Cui Lab as an entry to principal level researcher, supporting molecular biology, biochemistry, and mammalian cell culture work. The role involves contributing to cryo-EM/structural biology projects and helping establish workflows for a new scientific team, onsite in Aurora, CO.

You will perform cloning, mutagenesis, plasmid prep, and protein expression; manage lab operations, safety compliance, and inventories;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
• One year professional level research experience
• Two years professional level research experience
• Three years professional level research experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct molecular biology workflows, including cloning, mutagenesis, and plasmid preparation.
• Perform protein expression and purification using insect or mammalian systems.
• Maintain and manipulate mammalian cell lines for biochemical and structural studies.
• Coordinate daily lab activities, including ordering supplies and managing inventories.
• Serve as the primary contact for Environmental Health and Safety to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with the PI and postdoctoral fellows to design and optimize experimental protocols.
