Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to perform specimen processing, test performance and reporting of waived and non-waived results under CLIA supervision.

Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or Laboratory Sciences is required; 1–2 years of lab experience; ASCP-BOC preferred. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered; starting rate is $31.43 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences.
• Experience of 1–2 years in a lab environment is required.
• ASCP-BOC certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and perform tests as authorized by supervisor and CLIA.
• Perform test performance, quality control and result reporting.
• Maintain documentation and records of patient test results.
• Identify and report any issues affecting test performance to supervisors.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate testing and reporting.
