Job summary

Chevron Corporation in Ames, IA is seeking a Research Support Technologist to perform laboratory experiments and support product and process research and development. You will operate bench scale equipment, test samples, and help troubleshoot manufacturing processes.

The role requires a BS in a STEM field, 3–4 years of relevant experience, and the ability to work safely with hazardous materials. Strong communication and basic Office software skills are expected in a collaborative team

Qualifications

B.S. in a STEM discipline (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Biological, Chemistry).
3–4 years of relevant work experience in a lab or R&D setting.
Strong safety ethic and ability to work in a safety-sensitive role.

Responsibilities

Operate bench-scale equipment and perform lab activities (blending, filtration, reactions, distillations, analytical tests).
Support assembly, operation, and maintenance of experimental systems at Ames Technology Center.
Assist in design, selection, and commissioning of new lab equipment and capabilities.
Adhere to lab safety and OE programs and coordinate with HSE and P&PD colleagues.
Communicate progress on projects and experiments timely and clearly.
Draft/update technical documents such as SOPs.
Maintain a safe, organized, and clean laboratory environment.
