Job summary

Augusta University is seeking a Research Assistant in the MCG Pharmacology & Toxicology lab to perform routine research tasks, maintain cell cultures, conduct basic molecular biology and biochemical assays, collect tissues, and assist with genotyping under the supervision of the PI.

The role supports experimental procedures, data collection, and maintenance of lab resources and equipment; candidates should have a Bachelor's or Associate degree in relevant sciences and be detail-oriented with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, life sciences, or related field with research/clinical experience.
Associate's degree with a minimum of three years' experience in a research or clinical area.
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Ability and willingness to work with research animals.

Responsibilities

Maintain and propagate mammalian cell cultures; perform transfection, gene editing, cloning, genotyping, Western blotting, and animal breeding.
Analyze results of experiments using manual or computer techniques; summarize and generate figures for publication.
Order supplies and stock lab resources; maintain equipment and cleanliness in the lab.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the PI.
