Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a Departmental Quality Specialist to coordinate advanced quality activities and projects. The role focuses on optimizing information systems usage, reporting, and system improvements within the laboratory and related departments.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and MLS program completion, with ASCP certification preferred. Heavy emphasis on regulatory compliance and process improvement within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program required.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced consultation to departmental team members to optimize use of information systems to include MediaLab, SharePoint, SWIFT, safety event reporting system, and temperature monitoring apps.
• Recommends system usage improvements to enhance departmental workflow and efficiency.
• Prepares the department for system upgrades or maintenance.
• Performs informal end user system training on various departmental applications.
• Prepares a variety of complex to advanced reports using system vendor-supplied tools (not native SQL tools).
• Develops non-networked worksheets and databases using Microsoft Office for productivity improvement or departmental file-sharing.
• Participates in system implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution as a subject matter expert with Information Services.
• Monitors system performance and reports problems to Information Services for follow-up.
