Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate execution of SGS testing with local labs and affiliates.
  • Prepare specimens and readied equipment for testing.
  • Perform tests and analyze results per specified methodologies.
  • Track job folders, review tickets, and monitor invoicing.
  • Support lab operations and assist in calibration/ISO activities.
  • Communicate with clients regarding timing and issues encountered.

Job DescriptionSUMMARYThe Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating projects, multiple laboratory operational activities, and acts as the point of contact between operations and internal and external clients. Prepares test samples, readies equipment and conducts tests under the direction of laboratory supervisor and/or manager. Performs analysis of test results, as obtained by specific methodologies and techniques. Develops test methods as needed.While the initial focus of this position is on operational and client support activities, the role is intended to develop into a business development position, offering opportunities to build client relationships, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to the company's commercial strategy.
JOB FUNCTIONSCoordinate execution of SGS testing and other services with local labs and global affiliates including sample processing Performs job ticket review and monitors closing and invoicing of jobs folders Maintain tracking spreadsheets and email correspondence Coordinates projects and performs data collectionProvides support to all staff members of the department, including training where appropriateSupport Operations efforts with Sales, Technical and other departmentsMay communicate with clients regarding time performance or problems encountered in the particular analysisAssists in calibration scheduling and other ISO 17025 related activitiesPrepare specimens for use in testing, following standardized procedureTests and analyzes samples to determine performance properties as well as other characteristicsUses and operates any equipment or test apparatus in the laboratory, with appropriate trainingAssists in maintenance and troubleshooting of testing equipmentRead, comprehend and execute new test methods/standards capability added to the department operationSets up laboratory equipment and/or instrumentation required for the analysis of samples in accordance with TAPPI, NWSP, AATCC, ASTM, FTC, CFR, ISO, and other procedures from state and local municipalities, client proprietary procedures, and other non-routine proceduresAssist in keeping inventory of laboratory chemicals and equipment necessary for the day-to-day functioning of the laboratory and in compiling a list of supplies to be ordered when neededPeriodic analysis of known standards and/or samples relative to various areas of testing are employed both as a means of method validation and analytical proficiency. The results of the analyses are recorded in the individual's training recordOther projects and tasks/duties may also be assignedProvide administrative and special lab performance support as assigned for overall department management activitiesAdheres to internal standards, policies, and proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned

Additional InformationCompensationThe expected salary range for this position is $21.00 per hour. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
