An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomy Supervisor to lead a dynamic laboratory team. Pay Range: $31.52 - $52.00
The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts.
Assists hospital and laboratory leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, namely NYSDOH and The Joint Commission. Provides mentoring for the phlebotomy team. Provides supervision to all pre-analytical staff (Laboratory assistants), provides direct supervision relative to evaluating performance, discipline, hiring or recommending such action. Assists with the development and implementation of changes related to policies, procedures and related tools. Acts as a resource for the laboratory team regarding laboratory practice, safety and quality related to pre-analytical phase of laboratory testing. Develops and implements laboratory auditing tools to help ensure compliance with appropriate standards. Provides assistance on site, via phone and other electronic communications. Visits all PSC locations. Performs all functions (Phlebotomy, specimen processing, clerical duties). Assists with workload as needed. Develops schedules, performs performance appraisals, develops, adheres and adjust budgets, participates and develops departmental goals.
Job Requirements: Effective oral and written communication skills with laboratory manager and other laboratory personnel. Electronic communication skills.Effective interpersonal skills. Effective organizational and managerial skills, knowledge of current regulatory requirements for NYSDOH and The Joint Commission. Assess ongoing compliance monitoring within the requirements of the laboratory’s quality management system.
Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma.
Minimum Experience Requirement: Progressive laboratory experience: phlebotomy, registration & specimen processing experience required. Experience with Mobilab & MEDITECH required. At least 5 years as a phlebotomist and 5 years of experience as a phlebotomy supervisor or supervisory role required. National certification preferred.
