Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Lab Pack Technician I to assist in proper segregation and packaging of chemicals into DOT approved containers. Follow DOT and Reworld guidelines, ensuring labeling and paperwork accompany each container.

You will travel to customer sites, including hospitals and labs, and support loading/unloading, waste evaluation, and safe handling. Strong communication and a High School diploma are required; HAZWOPER/RCRA/DOT certs preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Maintains clean driving record and a valid Driver's license.
• Ability to effectively communicate via written and verbal methods.
• Obtain and keep current all required certifications including HAZWOPER, RCRA, and DOT.
• Travel to customer sites up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Safe and compliant execution of lab pack projects and proper packaging of hazardous, non-hazardous, universal wastes and off-spec products.
• Ensure proper paperwork, marking, and labeling on containers.
• Manage time/workload at customer sites such as hospitals, universities, and labs.
• Assist in loading/unloading of materials and act as Reworld's representative at customer sites.
• Assist in lab pack processing and evaluation of wastes prior to processing.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment.
• Comply with OSHA health and safety rules.
• Perform de-pack activities at Avon location as directed.

About the role

TheLab Pack TechnicianIis responsible forassistingin the proper segregation, packaging of chemicals into DOT approved containers and affixing the required DOT markings/labels, as directed byleadership. Segregation and packaging shall be performed according to DOT andReworldacceptance guidelines and lab pack protocol.

Position Responsibilities

• Safe and compliant execution of lab pack projects/jobs and the proper packaging of hazardous, non-hazardous, universal wastes and off-specificationcommercial products.
• Responsible for ensuring the proper paperwork, marking, and labeling is affixed to the containers being managed.
• Manage time and workload individually at customer sites, including but not limited to hospitals, universities, and labs.
• Assistsin the loading and unloading of materials from projects.
• Acts as a representative ofReworldwhile acting in an autonomous manner at a customer site.
• Assistsin the management of lab pack processing atReworldand evaluation ofwastesprior to processing.
• Maintain a neat and clean working environment.
• Comply withOSHA health and safety rules.
• Perform de-pack activities at Avon location as directed andrequired. Including but not limited towaste consolidation and pour-off.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED isrequired.
• Maintains clean driving record and a valid Driver's license.
• Abilityto effectively communicate via written and verbal methods.
• Obtain and keep current all required certifications but not limited to 40-hour HAZWOPER, RCRA, and DOT.
• Requires frequent travel to customer sites with occasional overnight travel, up to 15%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Higher education inChemistry or relatedfield.
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience.

Physical Demands of the Role

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
• Consistently work in various weather conditions

Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 18.85 - 25.05 USD per hour
