Job summary

Clean Earth is seeking a Lab Pack Chemist in the San Jose area to handle hazardous materials, perform on-site waste services, and ensure proper documentation and safety compliance. The role requires an associate degree in general science (BS preferred) and a CDL B within six months.

Travel up to 20% overnight may be necessary. A DOT physical and drug screen are required, with comprehensive benefits and future 401(k) participation. Physical ability to lift 55 lbs is essential.

Qualifications

• Lab Pack Chemist role requires a general science background and ability to handle hazardous materials.
• Travel 20% overnight; CDL B must be obtained within 6 months.
• Must safely lift and move materials up to 55 lbs regularly.
• DOT physical and drug screen clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Handle hazardous materials: inventory, identify, segregate, and package waste per laws.
• Perform onsite services: waste collection, consolidation, sampling, and safety inspections.
• Assist other groups; prepare shipment of packaged waste by inspecting, labeling, and loading.
• Complete documentation: shipping papers, LDRs, evaluations/certifications as required.
• May require CDL B to operate Clean Earth vehicles.
• Follow health & safety procedures and on-site JSA plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
