Job summary

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience or clinical lab exposure preferred.
• Must follow established laboratory procedures and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accession, label, sort, and route patient specimens.
• Verify specimen and requisition information and identify discrepancies for escalation.
• Prepare specimens and materials for testing within scope of position.
• Assist with specimen storage, retrieval, retention, and disposal.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, inventory, and workstation readiness.
• Assist with documentation, data entry, and record maintenance.
• Support specimen handoffs from couriers and affiliated urgent care centers.
• Maintain clean, organized laboratory work areas.
• Follow SOPs, safety requirements, infection-control practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Escalate any workflow or documentation issues to licensed staff as appropriate.
