Laboratory Support Assistant (LSA)

The Laboratory Support Assistant supports the daily operations of the clinical laboratory by performing specimen-processing, administrative, and other laboratory support activities under appropriate supervision. The LSA helps ensure specimens move efficiently from receipt through the testing workflow while allowing licensed laboratory personnel to focus on clinical testing and result reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

Must be able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment and follow established laboratory procedures. This position performs laboratory support functions and does not independently perform, interpret, or report high-complexity patient testing.

Working Conditions

Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
