Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily testing and reporting; ensure patient results are released only after required corrective actions.
• Coordinate laboratory staffing and schedules; provide day-to-day supervision and supervision when testing is underway.
• Perform testing in specialty areas including toxicology testing on laboratory instrumentation.
• Maintain the laboratory quality program, policies, proficiency testing, safety practices, and compliance with CLIA, state, accreditation, OSHA, and bloodborne pathogen requirements.
• Oversee specimen identification, handling, storage, transport, and disposal; establish protocols for confirmatory or additional testing and evaluate referral services as appropriate.
