Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• On-the-job training and orientation typically 1–2 months.

Responsibilities

• Promote department efficiency and ensure timely laboratory reports.
• Maintain regulatory compliance for records organization, retention and quality control.
• Glucometer orientation, education, and monitoring, plus troubleshooting.
• Print monthly QC reports and perform glucometer linearity checks.
• Publish department education topics and revise procedure manuals.
• Update and maintain laboratory policies and procedures electronically.
• Prepare monthly culture contamination reports and data for turn‑around‑time reports.
• Monitor EMR scanning and review chain‑of‑custody drug screen paperwork.
• Order and stock phlebotomy and laboratory supplies; maintain employee files.
• Prepare and update personnel phone call and disaster lists; perform EMR audits.
• Assist in interviewing, hiring, and supervision of phlebotomists; prepare schedules.
• Perform data entry for COVID tele tracker on weekends and assist with specimen processing.
• Be available 24/7 for phlebotomy staffing questions.
