Job summary

Ethos Labs in Worcester, MA seeks a Laboratory Manager to oversee multiple high-complexity departments including LC-MS/MS, Confirmation, and Validations. You will drive daily operations, mentor Supervisors, monitor metrics, and ensure compliance with CLIA, GLP, and HIPAA regulations.

You will lead process improvements, manage budgets and timelines, and partner with other leaders on new initiatives. A strong background in toxicology labs and staff development is essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Toxicology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or similar analytical science with ≥5 years relevant experience; or M.S. with ≥2 years relevant experience.
• Experience supervising high-complexity toxicology laboratory departments.
• Experience in high-throughput production laboratory.
• Experience with CLIA, COLA, CAP, and/or NYS standards.
• Ability to support Instrumentation (LCMS), Confirmation, and Validations departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of all assigned laboratory departments.
• Provide leadership and support to Supervisors and contributors.
• Ensure departments meet metrics and industry standards while prioritizing patient care.
• Improve efficiency and reduce downtime across instruments and workflows.
• Collaborate with leaders to set technical metrics and goals.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and timelines; communicate changes.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews across departments.
• Develop training programs and coaching for staff.
• Lead meetings and facilitate cross-department communication.
• Oversee instrument maintenance, calibrations, and service events.
• Support new assay implementations and instrument evaluations for LC-MS/MS.
