Job summary

IQVIA Laboratories in Ithaca is seeking an Associate Manager/Manager, Lab Operations to lead a team of laboratory professionals and oversee testing activities in compliance with clinical laboratory regulations.

You will provide technical leadership, develop staff, manage resources, and drive quality, safety, and operational performance across the lab, with a focus on continuous improvement and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• BS in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology may be required.
• Typically requires >5 years experience in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of laboratory operations, study setup, and cross-functional dependencies.
• In-depth knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and applicable regulations.
• Applicable certifications/licenses as required by local regulations.
• Other equivalent education, training, and experience may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of assigned lab work groups with delegation, training, and supervision.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign laboratory work based on testing requirements and resources.
• Hire, train, coach, develop, and evaluate staff.
• Provide technical leadership and resolve complex lab and instrumentation challenges.
• Develop and revise SOPs to meet regulatory and operational requirements.
• Manage budgets, supplies, inventory, instrumentation, and staffing needs.
• Lead quality and safety investigations, CAPA, and incidents.
