Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL seeks a Lab Manager to lead the Targeted Lipid Nanoparticle CMC lab operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant work environments that enable scientific program execution.

You will partner with scientists, facilities, EHS, and QA to manage equipment, inventory, storage, and maintenance, while driving 5S and continuous improvement to support timely development of next‑generation therapeutics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 5+ years of industry experience or Master’s with 2+ years of industry experience.
• Experience supporting lab operations, lab management, scientific research, or manufacturing support.
• Experience managing lab equipment, inventory systems, purchasing processes, and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for the tLNP laboratories, ensuring the space is safe, organized, and ready to support scientific work.
• Serve as the primary contact for facility, infrastructure, and operational issues, coordinating with Facilities and other support teams through resolution.
• Coordinate equipment installation, qualification, calibration, preventive maintenance, repairs, and service contracts throughout the equipment lifecycle.
