Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is seeking a Lab Technical Coordinator to oversee the department’s technical operations, inventory, QA, and CAP readiness. The role focuses on coordinating staff, ensuring quality testing, and supporting routine and complex testing on blood and other specimens.

You will supervise shifts, manage workload, train staff, and act as a resource to the laboratory team, contributing to patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• BS in a physical or life science field required.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required.
• 2–5 years of laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical activities of the department including inventory management and QA.
• Perform testing and processing of routine and complex tests on blood and specimens.
• Act as a resource to staff and ensure CAP readiness.
• Assess workload, prioritize tasks, and adjust staffing for shifts.
• Train staff and participate in competency assessments.
