Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Lab Operations Specialist / Facilities Operations Specialist for a 1-year assignment in Philadelphia, PA.

This role focuses on maintaining equipment inventory, evaluating lab systems, managing vendor PMs, calibrations, and ensuring compliant, efficient lab operations. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, support safety programs, oversee deliveries and maintenance tasks, and help ensure that lab infrastructure and equipment meet operational

Qualifications

• A.S. or B.S. in Life Sciences or Facilities Management with management/technical emphasis.
• 1 year of pharmaceutical, life sciences, or biotech experience in an academic or industry setting.
• 2 years of experience implementing maintenance and repair programs in an R&D facility.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment inventory and ensure data accuracy.
• Regularly evaluate fixed lab equipment (fume hoods, exhaust fans, biosafety cabinet, etc) are functioning properly.
• Manage all laboratory vendor service contracts ensuring that preventative maintenance visits are executed on schedule.
• Coordinate timelines across laboratories for certifications and calibrations on critical equipment.
• Help resolve and coordinate equipment repair visits between service providers and laboratory teams.
• Review cold storage monitoring software to minimize risk of freezer failure; escalate issues as needed.
• Participate in laboratory emergency planning/management (power outages and infra projects).
• Work with technicians, users, IT, and leadership to ensure equipment and operational needs are met.
• Chaperone technicians from external suppliers and ensure adherence to company policies on site.
• Oversee delivery logistics by coordinating receipt of packages, gas deliveries, or installation of laboratory equipment.
• Support procurement of laboratory consumables and supplies as needed.
• Perform general troubleshooting of laboratory operation issues.
• Support development and maintenance of procedures to ensure compliant lab operations.
• Collaborate with lab safety officer to manage safety systems/compliance and PPE.
• Provide miscellaneous laboratory maintenance tasks such as supply stocking and eye wash/shower flushing.
