Job summary

Fate Therapeutics is seeking a Laboratory Operations professional to support Facilities, Technical Operations, and R&D with hands-on lab operations and equipment management at our San Diego headquarters. This full-time, on-site position involves calibration, maintenance, and deployment of lab systems, ensuring SOP adherence and GDP practices.

The role interfaces with Manufacturing end users and requires 1+ year of lab operations experience, CMMS familiarity, and strong cross-functional

Qualifications

• 1+ years of laboratory operations and equipment maintenance experience in biotech/pharma.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Exposure to CMMS preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge of equipment and tools (biosafety cabinets, incubators, centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, etc.).
• Basic math skills and ability to use calibration equipment.
• Proficient problem-solving and detail orientation.
• Strong cross-functional communication to manage multiple requests.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for R&D, Tech Ops, and Manufacturing facilities requests.
• Plan short- and long-term lab activities and coordinate calibration, maintenance, and relocation.
• Execute lab operations requests and work orders on schedule.
• Maintain equipment lists and enrollment in calibration/maintenance schedules.
• Implement policies and protocols for equipment and lab activities.
• Update assets and documents in relevant databases/systems.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment with proper documentation per SOPs.
• Supervise vendors to ensure compliant task completion.
