BayCare Health System in Clearwater seeks a Lab Medical Assistant IV (Tech Asst POC) for Morton Plant, full-time. The role supports technical staff, performs pretesting, and ensures accurate results in a fast-paced clinical lab.Responsibilities include teamwork, strong organizational and communication skills, regulatory compliance, and using computers. Must have high school diploma; ASCP/SCYM/AMT/ASPT certifications preferred; shift 6:30am–7:00pm.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year in related field experience.
• ASCP/SCYM/AMT/ASPT certifications may be required (if applicable).
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists the technical staff within the departments.
• Performs manual pretesting including waived testing.

Responsibilities:

The Lab Medical Assistant IV is responsible for:

• Assists the technical staff within the technical departments
• Handles any and all manual pretesting procedures including waived testing as required
• Works in a team environment
• Demonstrate organizational, time management, analytical, delegation, written, and verbal skills
• Use computer skills appropriate to position
• Must have customer service and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of regulatory standards appropriate to position
• Identifies problems and implements and/or recommends solutions
• Performs other duties as assigned

Certification & Licensure:

• Required – Driver's License (if applicable)
• Required – ASCP / SCYM (if applicable)
• Required – AMT Medical Technologists (if applicable)
• Required – ASPT Phlebotomy Technicians (if applicable)

Education:

• Required – High School or Equivalent
• Preferred – Technical Science
• Preferred – Associate's

Experience:

• Required – 1 year in related field
• Preferred – 2 years in related field
