Job summary

BayCare Health System in Clearwater is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I to support accurate diagnostic testing at Morton Plant. The role emphasizes adherence to established policies and quality standards while contributing to timely patient results.

Responsibilities include performing tests, quality control, reagent preparation, and maintaining equipment, with PRN onsite scheduling. Florida licensure is required, and 4 months of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or related field; or equivalent.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience: Clinical laboratory experience required; minimum of four months.
• Licensure/ certification: State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing and quality control procedures.
• Prepare reagents and report results per policies.
• Review and oversee moderate to high complexity laboratory testing.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supply inventory.
• Monitor computer applications related to laboratory operations.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in all testing activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Overview

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I , you will support accurate and timely diagnostic services by performing laboratory testing while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing diagnostic testing and quality control procedures
• Preparing reagents and reporting results according to established policies and procedures
• Reviewing and overseeing moderate to high complexity laboratory testing
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and supply inventory
• Monitoring computer applications related to laboratory operations
• Ensuring accuracy and compliance in all testing activities
• Performing other duties as assigned

• Associate’s degree in Medical Technology OR a related field
