Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field; OR Engineering Intern certification; OR four years of subprofessional engineering experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
• Supervises staff, coordinates activities, and directs assignments within the lab environment.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and testing standards; ability to interpret specs and perform calculations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train lab personnel and ensure equipment meets specifications and calibration standards.
• Test concrete, steel, metal and other materials; review test results for accuracy and compliance; prepare final reports.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, NDOT divisions, suppliers, testing firms and other agencies; participate in CCRL accreditation programs.
• Manage testing and training procedures used within the lab; ensure timely completion of work within deadlines.
