Job summary

PerkinElmer is seeking a highly motivated Lab IT Deskside support specialist to provide critical support as part of the lab IT service team. You will support customer laboratory IT environments integrated with instrumentation and manage onboarding and asset relocation.

The role requires strong customer service, troubleshooting, and communication skills; experience with Microsoft OS, networking, and validated environments is preferred; you will work onsite in a laboratory setting with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and provide technical support of customer laboratory IT environments, typically integrated with instrumentation.
• Implement benchtop computing design and processes as specified.
• Administer and ensure connectivity of Windows-based platforms.
• Support operating systems, desktop hardware and peripherals, instrument software, core applications and computer imaging.
• Manage onboarding, retirement, and relocation of equipment.
• Implement Windows security, including permissions and group policies.
• Analyze and implement enhancements to improve desktop platform support.
• Ensure adherence to client policies through reporting and compliance programs.
• Act as technical support contact for instrument vendors.
• Repair and troubleshoot instrument-related computers and escalate issues to client infrastructure teams.
• Support new system validations and change management.
• Create and maintain inventory of lab equipment, PCs, software, and other items.
• Submit weekly reports to team lead by COB Friday.
• Serve as client liaison for software/hardware inquiries.
• Participate in client meetings and provide support across PerkinElmer OneSource practices.
• Demonstrate proper use of office equipment/software after training.
• Maintain training and compliance in health, safety, security, and environmental aspects.
