Job summary

The University of Washington, Center for Ecosystem Sentinels, seeks a Computer Support Analyst 2 to keep a ~30‑computer research lab functioning smoothly. You will work across Windows, Mac, and Linux environments, implement security measures, manage backups, and assist with software like SQL Server, ArcMap, R/RStudio, and Office tools.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional programming/operational experience or one year as Computer Support Analyst I
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred
• Strong knowledge of PC, Mac, and Linux systems and cybersecurity basics
• SQL, Python, E, C, VBA, or similar languages requested
• Excellent written communication and ability to document technical concepts

Responsibilities

• Maintain 30-computer lab hardware, network security, and backups
• Manage and improve data collection programs and the SQL Server database
• Provide technical support and documentation for fieldwork software and devices
• Develop, test, and debug MS Access and SQL Server applications
• Train volunteers and researchers on data entry, cleaning, and ad-hoc analytics
• Assist with software installation, licensing, and scripting tasks
