Job summary

The University of Washington’s Center for Ecosystem Sentinels seeks a Computer Support Analyst 2 to ensure smooth operation of a ~30-computer biology lab. You will maintain data collection programs, administer SQL Server and related tools, and provide tech support for fieldwork and research projects.

Ideal candidates will have strong SQL, Python, and security knowledge, plus experience documenting processes and training researchers in computing protocols.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional experience in programming and/or work in an administrative/operational role OR one year of experience as Computer Support Analyst I
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• System management of 30-computer lab, including security and software updates
• Maintain and improve data collection programs and backups
• Administer SQL Server databases and SSMS
• Provide technical support for lab equipment and fieldwork
• Document IT processes and user guidance
• Coordinate IT purchases, licensing, and infrastructure needs
• Manage and train students/researchers on computing protocols
