Job summary

Victaulic in Easton, PA is seeking a Lab Associate - Inventory Clerk on a 3-6 month contract to support the Engineering Lab. You will maintain raw and processed material inventories and ensure smooth transfers to storage, from inbound check-in to recycling of unwanted materials.

In a fast-paced R&D setting, you will inspect shipments, match items to work orders, log hours, operate lab material handling equipment, and keep the workspace lean, safe, and organized.

We're looking for a Lab Associate - Inventory Clerk to join our Engineering Research and Development Laboratory in Easton, PA. In this role, you'll maintain raw and processed material inventory levels and ensure smooth, efficient transfers of product to and from storage - from proper storage and check-in of incoming material to recycling unwanted materials. You'll assist the technical staff as needed and keep the lab organized, efficient, and safe. This is an opportunity to build hands‑on skills across inventory systems and lab operations in a fast‑paced R&D environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD & OWN

• Inspect shipments of new stock as they come in, ensuring orders have been filled correctly, checking for damage, and arranging correction of damaged or incorrect orders.
• Correlate incoming shipments to active work orders and mark items received as they arrive.
• Perform inventory control of lab raw materials as directed, including daily tracking of incoming and outgoing boxes in the digital inventory database and coordinating with the logistics team on offsite storage.
• Organize pipe stock inventory, help maintain minimum stocking levels through the inventory system, and provide material cert traceability for all pipe delivered to the facilities.
• Recycle unwanted materials.
• Use the lab's material handling equipment to move, inventory, store, and maintain all incoming and outgoing material as needed.
• Log and estimate hours using Liquid Planner (LP), using it as a primary communication tool.
• Maintain an efficient, professional, organized, and clean work area in accordance with Lean initiatives.
• Follow all company safety requirements and procedures.
• As needed: prepare batches of product samples (including painting and assembly); prepare and apply shipping and mailing labels; maintain records and logs; double-check quantities to ensure amounts charged match amounts received; and assist on the shop floor, including running a forklift and prepping parts.
• Follow Engineering Department policies and procedures for the security and accessibility of electronic data and confidential information, including document management requirements outlined in EOG-26, and communicate via email in a professional manner consistent with those guidelines.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Mechanical aptitude and high organizational skills.
• Proficient in the use of computers, including all applicable inventory software.
• Capable of assisting in the performance of all laboratory functions and following verbal and written instructions.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

WHAT SETS YOU APART

• Associate and/or technical degree.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, shop math, and precision instrument operation (measurement instruments such as calipers, diameter measuring tapes, etc.).
