Job summary

Victaulic is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join our Cookeville, TN operations. You will drive lean initiatives, support equipment, and scale operations through standardization and continuous improvement on the shop floor.

This role engages with engineering, operations, and maintenance daily to improve productivity and maintain quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
• Program automated and robotic equipment; maintain programs.
• Improve equipment utilization and workflow efficiency.
• Partner with Quality on root-cause analysis and countermeasures.
• Identify top causes of downtime and fix them.
• Assist maintenance with troubleshooting and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Generate reports from multiple data sources.
• Evaluate and implement new technology or equipment.
• Create and update quality and production docs.
• Support capital project proposals and management.
• Flag safety concerns and implement fixes.

YOUR IMPACT STARTS HERE

We’re looking for a hands‑on Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on the shop floor and knows how to turn problems into process improvements to join our team in Cookeville, TN. In this role, you’ll drive continuous improvement, support equipment and process reliability, and help scale operations through lean principles and standardization. You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve productivity, troubleshoot issues, and support new equipment installations. This is not a desk‑only role — you’ll be actively engaged in daily manufacturing operations, providing technical direction, solving real‑time issues, and keeping processes aligned with quality, safety, and performance standards.

WHAT YOU’LL BUILD & OWN

• Take part in — or lead — lean manufacturing, 5S, and Facilities Excellence initiatives as assigned


• Learn, run, and program automated and robotic equipment, building and maintaining the programs and files needed to keep it running


• Improve equipment utilization and workflow with a focus on efficiency


• Partner with Quality on root‑cause analysis and countermeasures for defects


• Pinpoint the top causes of equipment downtime and fix them for good


• Support maintenance with troubleshooting and repairs, build preventive maintenance schedules, and flag critical spare parts


• Pull data from multiple sources into reports that show where manufacturing stands


• Spot opportunities for new technology or equipment, and help justify and implement it


• Create, review, and update quality and production documentation


• Lead or support capital project proposals and management


• Flag safety concerns and help build the fix

WHAT YOU BRING

• B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering


• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting


• In‑depth knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or other solid modeling software


• Demonstrated ability in process improvement, metric development, and problem‑solving


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Detail‑oriented and analytical approach


• A quick learner who is self‑motivated, with the ability to promptly accomplish tasks with minimal supervision


• Willingness to accept assignments of all types, including intermittent travel up to 10%
