Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Research in College Station, Texas seeks a Research Technician I to provide entry-level, semi-skilled technical support for lab and field work, including sample collection and data recording under supervision.

You will assist with microbiology tasks, DNA/RNA prep, equipment maintenance, and SOP development, while following biosafety guidelines and ensuring accurate records; requires a HS diploma and 2 years of related experience, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years related experience required.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively.
• Knowledge of basic laboratory safety and aseptic technique.
• Ability to follow written and verbal protocols and keep accurate records.
• Ability to perform basic calculations.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets).

Responsibilities

• Sample and data collection from lab and field trials with proper documentation.
• Laboratory support including microbiology tasks and DNA/RNA prep.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure biosafety.
• Maintain cleanliness, inventory, and sample archives.
• Assist senior staff with experiments and field sampling trips.
