Job summary

NSF is seeking an Engineer I in Engineering/Plastics to design, fabricate fixtures, and maintain lab equipment for plastics testing. You will participate in audits, follow ISO 17025 standards, and support multiple projects within Willow Run.

Strong attention to detail, math and mechanical aptitude are essential, with opportunities to grow into advanced lab roles. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in engineering and can read and follow SOPs, test methods, and safety protocols while working both

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline; ability to read, understand and follow standards, SOPs and test methods.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent mathematical and mechanical aptitude; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-level laboratory testing with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain and organize workload to meet due dates.
  • Prepare and record all data per ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Create, review and update SOPs as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain lab equipment calibrations and needs.
  • Cross-train in other lab areas to balance workload.
