Job summary

The Lab Assistant at UC Berkeley will support the AUTOLab, led by Professor Ken Goldberg, by maintaining safety and organization, coordinating IT and electrical infrastructure, and assisting in robotics projects including device design and 3D printing fabrication. You will work closely with students and researchers in a dynamic lab environment.

Responsibilities include supervising experiments, recording data, configuring new workstations, and assisting in designing new robotic devices.

Qualifications

• Expertise with robot arms and similar machinery.
• Knowledge of CAD design and 3D printing fundamentals.
• Skills in organizing tools and equipment.
• Scientific background to operate software systems.
• Ability to read and interpret robot manuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lab organization, greet visitors, ensure safety.
• Supervise robot experiments and record data; order compliant cables.
• Coordinate repair of robot arm with vendor; set up workstations.
• Troubleshoot network problems and assist in designing new devices.
• Advise students on research and assist in 3D printing fabrication.
