Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a part-time courier to deliver laboratory specimens, mail and supplies between MercyOne facilities and laboratory customers in the region. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and the ability to read, write and speak English.

Day shift, non-exempt position with good customer service and safety awareness. Training provided and benefits participation per policy.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED.
• English reading, writing and speaking required.
• Two years' courier experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of materials management preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License; at least 18; eligible to drive per Iowa law.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transport laboratory specimens, mail and other materials and/or supplies with excellent customer service.
• Follow infection control and bloodborne pathogen procedures.
• Handle chemicals according to safety protocols.
• Meet workload productivity standards and support LEAN practices.
• Use courier software and devices to track packages and routes.
• Maintain required storage temperatures for temperature-sensitive materials.
• Keep vehicles and courier bags clean and organized.
• Attend and participate in department huddles.
• Track packages and optimize transport time as per policies.
• Assist in teaching peers.
