Job summary

MercyOne Davenport is seeking a part-time courier to transport laboratory specimens, mail and supplies between affiliated MercyOne facilities. You will follow infection control policies, handle chemicals safely, and meet productivity standards in a rotating schedule.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, and a valid driver’s license. Prior courier experience is preferred, and training compliance must be completed within three months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED is required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Two years of courier experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility to drive per Iowa law.
• Must complete mandatory reporter training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transport laboratory specimens, mail and supplies between MercyOne facilities.
• Follow infection control, safety and bloodborne pathogen policies.
• Handle chemicals following established safety protocols.
• Meet defined workload productivity standards and apply LEAN principles.
• Use courier software to track packages and route documentation.
• Ensure temperature sensitive materials are stored and transported appropriately.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and courier bags.
• Attend department huddles and participate in peer teaching.
